The Negotiation Waltz – David Stone, blüStone Marketing
The fine art of give-and-take for AE professionals
One of the leading marketing thinkers in the AEC industry, David has advised hundreds of design and construction firms around the globe. He is the author of 15 books and is a sought-after speaker at design and construction conferences around the world.
More often than not, design professionals end up at the short end of a one-sided contract. Why? Because contract negotiation is a learned skill that clients have studied and design professionals have not.
Working to achieve “Win-Win” agreements, this eye-opening program looks at the essentials of contracts – the good, the bad and the really bad – and the vital skills you need to bring your contract negotiations to a fair conclusion.
You’ll study power and who holds it. You’ll learn to choose the right negotiating strategy, to properly prepare yourself before the dance begins, and then to work through each element of the bargaining process — in the right order!
Then you’ll get down to the nitty-gritty tactics such as “good guy/bad guy,” ” the flinch,” “the Vice” and “funny money” and other tactics you need to ensure a fair outcome against skilled negotiators.
These are fundamental skills that you need working for you every day. Be part of this program and be ready for your next negotiation.
