Celebrate the amazing contributions to the engineering industry at the 48th Annual Engineering Excellence Awards, January 23, 2015. Many innovative projects will compete amongst the very best design firms have to offer; a testament to Washington’s leading engineers. This program recognizes the efforts of design professionals and their clients, putting these outstanding projects center stage.
Regarded as the “Academy Awards” of Engineering, these prestigious awards offer engineers well-deserved recognition from their peers as well as the general public. The accomplishments and contributions of engineering firms are brought to the attention of clients, the business community, and the media.
The night will also include the presentation of the 56th Annual Engineer of the Year Award. The Engineer of the Year Award recognizes the success, commitment, and contribution of an outstanding individual to the engineering profession.
Ross Shafer, Master of Ceremonies
Ross Shafer is a 6-Time Emmy® Award winning writer, comedian, and television host. He has hosted such network talk and game shows as The Late Show on FOX, The New Match Game on ABC, and Days End on ABC.
He wrote and produced the acclaimed comedy album Inside the First Family about the bizarre publicity surrounding the Clinton administration.
Ross has also written and produced 14 Human Resource training films on Customer Service, Employee Relations, Sales, and Motivation.
His books include Are you Relevant?, Nobody Moved Your Cheese! (How to Ignore the Experts and Trust Your Gut), Cook Like A Stud (38 recipes Men can Prepare in the Garage with their own Tools) and The Customer Shouts Back!™, is a result of 11 years of customer response research. Ross is now convinced the reason customer service hasn’t improved is because we haven’t tried to understand the customers’ emotional state before, during, and after the transaction. Ross’ most recent book is Grab More Market Share (2011).
